Amman Academy Supports Victims of Volcano Eruption – November 2024

In early November 2024, Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki, on Flores Island experienced a series of powerful eruptions, with the most severe occurring on November 3. The volcano sent ash plumes 2,000 meters into the air, affecting seven nearby villages and displacing over 10,000 residents. The eruption caused significant damage to homes, with lava and hot debris devastating areas within 4 kilometers of the crater. Evacuations were carried out for safety, and the alert level for the volcano was raised to its highest level. (BNPB).

In response to this crisis, Ibu Sandy, one of Amman Academy’s parents, initiated a donation to aid affected families. The school then informed all parents and received 21 boxes and 3 big bags of clothes, sheets, and blankets. These efforts aim to provide essential supplies. This approach highlights the school’s commitment to contributing to the community and showing the caring nature of  Amman Academy students. Special thanks to Ibu Sandy for initiating the response and supporting Indonesians in need. Thank you to all parents who responded to the call for donations.
