At Amman Academy, we have established a number of support structures to help our students achieve success in their chosen career and university choices.
Year 9 (MYP 4 ) – Career Guidance counseling
For Year 9 students, they receive Introduction Sessions to help them explore their passions, interests, and strengths, setting a foundation for future career and academic decisions.
Year 10 (MYP 5) – Career Guidance counseling
In year 10 we conduct sessions whereby students speak about decision making, what their career pathways ideas and what are the subject options that Amman Academy offers for year 11 and 12. Year 10 students also have individual meetings with our university counselor Ms. Ana.
Every year we conduct the DP Subject Fair. Students have accounts on Bridge-U, our university database with university information about universities from all over the world.
For all year 9, 10,11 and 12 students we organize and annual Career Day. The theme of this year was ‘How do I impact the World’? The aim of the event is to provide students opportunities to connect with people from different fields of work and have the opportunity to ask them questions about their career pathways. This is the second year we host this event and we started off with a wonderful opening speech of pak Arief Sidarto. All our guest speakers were absolutely wonderful and our students (and faculty alike) felt this as a very positive experience. We all came home inspired.
Year 11 (DP 1 )- Career Guidance counseling
With Year 11, our DP Hour sessions continue, where we’re focusing on university research and applications, CV building, and providing well-being support, ensuring that students feel confident as they navigate this critical stage in their education. We aim to have students ready and prepared to apply by the end of this academic year. Students take responsibility to work hard to build their C.V’s and do the research of where they want to go. Parental support is crucial in this process.
Year 11 Merdeka – Career Guidance counseling
Our counseling program plays a vital role in guiding students through university and career planning. We start with a self-assessment to help students understand their interests, strengths, and values. This process, including a SWOT analysis, allows them to set meaningful goals and align their future university and career choices. We also introduce various university admission pathways in Indonesia, ensuring students are well-prepared academically and beyond.
Year 12 Merdeka Career Guidance counseling
In Term 1, we guide students through their Career Tree, helping them map potential career paths and begin Mapping Universities into Dream, Target, and Safe categories. They explore university admission details, including quotas, competitiveness, and required academic/non-academic scores.
Through Coaching Sessions, we assess how their university choices align with their passions and talents, encouraging self-awareness and informed decision-making. These reflective meetings ensure that students are on track with their goals. We also involve parents in discussions to create a supportive environment.
The school provides BIMBEL tuition support for our national students preparing for national university exams.
