Hello! My name is Patrick Reilly, and I am the MYP Language Acquisition teacher. I am originally from San Diego, California, and I have previously taught in California, Thailand, Ukraine, and Kenya. I enjoy the language learning process and feel excited when students show growth in their reading, writing, and analytical abilities in English. My diverse teaching background and exposure to learners from many different cultures have helped me develop strong empathy for English learners and an understanding of the challenges they may face.
In my classroom, I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and using English with confidence. I believe language learning is most successful when students feel respected, motivated, and encouraged to think critically. When I’m not at school, I enjoy surfing, roller skating, watching sunsets, and eating ayam bakar dengan sambal matah.
