Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Leadership & Implementation
- Lead the strategic implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the IB Diploma Programme (DP), ensuring alignment with the IB philosophy, Programme Standards and Practices, and relevant SPK regulations.
- Support subject teachers and core component supervisors (TOK, CAS, EE) in curriculum planning, ensuring vertical and horizontal alignment, academic rigor, and interdisciplinary connections.
- Guide the integration of international-mindedness, ATL (Approaches to Learning), and IB Learner Profile attributes across all subjects.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of IB documentation, programme evaluation reports, subject outlines, and internal assessments.
- Collaborate with MYP and PYP coordinators to ensure a cohesive IB continuum.
- Instructional Supervision & Professional Development
- Provide ongoing pedagogical leadership and mentorship to DP faculty through lesson observations, reflective dialogue, and targeted feedback.
- Identify faculty professional development needs and coordinate or deliver training sessions aligned with IB best practices and programme developments.
- Foster a collaborative professional learning culture focused on inquiry, innovation, assessment literacy, and student agency.
- Student Development & Well-being
- Monitor and support the academic progress and emotional well-being of all DP students through collaboration with homeroom teachers, counselors, and parents.
- Oversee the implementation and quality of the core components—Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), and the Extended Essay (EE).
- Support students in managing workload, deadlines, and the development of time management, research, and self-management skills necessary for success in the DP.
- Parent & Community Engagement
- Advise students and parents on DP course selections, university applications, and academic pathways.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding DP curriculum, expectations, and student progress through meetings, workshops, and newsletters.
- Build partnerships with universities, alumni, and external organizations to enrich the student experience and facilitate career and university readiness
- Coordinate the promotion and understanding of the DP within the broader school community to ensure shared ownership and support.
- Operational & Administrative Leadership
- Oversee all administrative aspects of the DP, including exam registration, IBIS data management, internal assessments, predicted grades, and the organization of mock and final examinations.
- Ensure full compliance with IB policies, deadlines, and procedures, and serve as the liaison with the IB organization.
- Participate as an active member of the school leadership team, contributing to school-wide planning, evaluation, and strategic development.
- Minimum 5 years of experience teaching in upper secondary education (Grades 11–12), with at least 2 years in a leadership, coordination, or IB Diploma Programme role.
- Demonstrated success in implementing the IB Diploma Programme, including experience guiding students through the core components: TOK, CAS, and Extended Essay.
- Prior experience in SPK, international, or bilingual schools is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting diverse learners, including multilingual students, within a rigorous academic framework.
- Proven track record of curriculum leadership, instructional coaching, and program evaluation within the DP context.
- Familiarity with national education standards in Indonesia and how they integrate with international curricula, particularly IB DP.
- Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- IB DP-specific training (e.g., Category 1, 2, or 3 workshops, or DP Coordinator training) is required.
- Strong understanding of the IB DP Standards and Practices, and experience in curriculum planning, assessment, and reporting within the Diploma Programme.
- High proficiency in English (spoken and written) is essential; working knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is advantageous for communication with stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of the IB DP framework, subject group requirements, and the nature of the core components (TOK, CAS, EE).
- Skilled in leading curriculum articulation, interdisciplinary planning, and ensuring alignment with IB expectations and school goals.
- Strong commitment to fostering student-oriented learning environments, inquiry, and international-mindedness.
- Ability to support high academic standards while nurturing students’ well-being, autonomy, and critical thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop teaching staff through feedback, coaching cycles, and collaborative reflection.
- Skilled in organizing and facilitating high-impact professional development tailored to the needs of DP educators.
- Proficient in managing DP assessment systems, including internal assessments, predicted grades, and exam readiness.
- Uses assessment data to support instructional decisions, student learning, and programme review.
- Proficiency in educational technology and data management systems.
- Experience in supporting university application processes, including writing references and aligning with global higher education expectations.
- Effective communicator with students, parents, faculty, and IB personnel.
- Ability to lead and sustain programme development aligned with IB updates and accreditation processes.
- Experience managing IBIS platform, IB deadlines, and programme self-study or evaluation requirements.
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11–12), ensuring quality teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
- Collaborate with the Senior Principal, Head of School, and leadership team to align the DP with whole-school strategic goals.
- Monitor and support the implementation of TOK, CAS, and the Extended Essay, ensuring consistency and depth in student experiences.
- Stay updated with IB DP developments and act as the school’s primary liaison with the IB organization.
- Full-time role with occasional evening or weekend commitments for parent meetings, student exhibitions, university events, or IB deadlines.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the DP through effective planning, exam coordination, and ongoing compliance with IB and national education regulations.
- Collaborative, multicultural environment in an SPK school, requiring adaptability to Indonesian cultural norms and SPK regulations.
- Expected to lead professional development, attend IB workshops, and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
