I’m Jason Green, and I teach Visual Art in the High School here at Amman Academy. With over 20 years of experience teaching in many different places and circumstances I’ve learned that the best education happens when there are positive and trusting relationships in the classroom. My philosophy in the art room is centered on connection, both interpersonal and cultural. Creating a classroom environment where students view discussion and constructive feedback as a positive, exciting step in their own development.
Coming from New Zealand I have always included a strong cultural aspect in my approach to Art education. This allows students to become more self aware of their place in the bigger picture of the art world and the world in general. With Indonesia’s rich visual arts traditions this is an important part of the program here.
